The High School Youth Ministry group at St. Joseph meets Sunday nights from 7:00 pm until 8:30 pm in the church basement. It is an ecumenical group focused on scripture study and prayer. Our parish also has small groups that meet at a variety of different times for thematic bible studies or discussion groups.
Our youth ministry groups do extra service on a weekly basis at both local and regional non-profits. The high school group also is responsiblef or the packing of food on a weekly basis for the Backpack Ministry program that provides supplemental nutrition for local students in need.
Our can recycling project is a bi-monthly (and sometimes weekly) service commitment that provides funds to support people in need, service trips and our priest project in Malawi. Seasonal ministry includes sung evening prayer, lent preparation projects, 24 Hours of Prayer event, outdoor ministry projects, Dock Days prayer group, and service trips every summer.
The College Youth Ministry Group is an online prayer and bible study forum that supports our high school graduates that are on college campuses. During college breaks the group meets in person on Tuesday nights and Friday mornings sharing in a Mass experience then meals, prayer and bible studies. Summer programs are arranged based on their busy schedules.
The Youth Ministry Program also does Cathedral trips, Homeless Shelter Trips, Outdoor Camping experiences and Overseas trips on a rotating schedule. These programs are offered to active youth ministry students first.
